week 3....
Well I would have to say this week has been the hardest. I was so excited to move on to soft foods, but did not realize how hard this would be. #1 not all foods agree with my new pouch and #2 some just not longer appeal to the old taste buds. Not only do I have to go thru the learning to eat again, but focus on getting in 60-80 Grams of protein and 64 oz of water a day. This is extremely hard when you can only consume 2-3 oz a sitting.. Another challenge it knowing when you are full before its too late. Since I never feel hungry it can be a challenge.
The things that did not agree with my pouch...
Fish cooked any way
Tuna
Salmon
melons
All the above made my stomach cramp soooooo bad it was miserable
Things that saved me this week ....
Wendy's chili - actually very healthy for you
low fat cottage cheese
premier protein protein shake
weight watchers string cheese wrapped with a piece of turkey lunch meat.
I did make it to the gym 3 out of the 5 days. I did a few 3 mile walks with my friends. My gym workout Consist of 30-45 min workout, and 3 sets of 10 reps of 6 different weight lifting exercises depending on which muscle group I am targeting that day. I alternate everyday so I do not over work one area.
Successes this week:
was able to fit into the next size smaller pants ; some not all =) But very excited!
My measurement loss this week was : -1 inch waist -1.5 thighs .5 arms 0 hips
My weight loss this week was: -2.5 pounds
Over all a learning week.. Good and bad ...
This coming week I move onto all foods but think I will take it slow... I also add in a few more vitamins which themselves fill me up.. this should be interesting..

Post-Op week 2
This week was spent getting back into the groove of things. Back to school, and went back to work. Remembering to drink, take vitamins , log food intake ( I'm on lose it app , incase anyone is too ) and exercise.
A few days this week, I felt very exhausted however it was at night, and I was able to sleep.
So, this week I move to soft foods. Feeling a bit nervous but excited since I am way over this liquid diet. Also, Start my Gym workouts, per my surgeon with circuit training + alternating leg workouts, arm workouts, chest and abs. Still Planning to do the 3 mile morning walks with friends as an addition. We will see how this works
Water intake is up to where it should be at 60 oz . I am just working on my protein intake. I am hoping it will be much easier with foods introduced into diet. I have stocked up in High protein foods =)
This weeks Measurements: -1/2 inch waist , -3 inch hips, -1 inch on thighs =) Overall 4.5 inches lost
This weeks weight loss: -.5
until next week =)

1 week follow-up
Today I had my 1 week follow up with my surgeon. Went so well! Surgery went as well as it possibly could, and I am healing just as planned. He asked me about my workouts, I was happy to report I started my 2.5 mile walks with my friends. He said Good but thats not an activity that we consider a workout. It will not build enough muscle needed to support the rapid weight loss. So Im joining the gym =) Have a 3 week follow up with him and my nutritionalist so I better get on it! Good news was i am down 11 lbs from pre-op liquid diet and 12 lbs since surgery! Yaaaaay
I went back to work today ! It actually felt great to get back to my schedule and I feel ok. I did FINALLY get my 64oz + in today Yay!
3 more days of this liquid diet then on to puree stage THANK GOD!
Happy Wednesday!

1 week post op......
What a week! So surgery went wonderful! Doctor said i did fantastic, and I was sent home the next day. The pain was incredible the first day! Thank god for pain meds! But by the 2nd day I didn't have much pain it was more of a tender feeling. I was sent home and my AMAZING husband was so great and took care of me. I have progressed to a full liquid diet, which one crazy thing is stuff I liked pre-surgery I don't care for anymore and the foods I didn't like I love now. Crazy! I know. One major bummer was finding out my body doesn't like yogurt anymore.. BOOOO. I am gonna try a different brand just hoping its that brand. We shall see... The other is trying to get down 60 oz water a day and still have 3 meals a day. Im at 30-35 oz a day right now and 2 oz meals 3 times a day. I am not hungry AT ALL .. Love that .. I am working on increasing the water this week and will be adding 2 protein shakes. I got to get more protein in......
So its back to school and work this week. Hoping all goes well , I think I will be fine just a little worried bcuz I still get tired easy!!
So week one measurement loss was: 2.5 inches in waist lost,1.5 inches lost in thighs and 1 inch lost on arms. total loss of 5 inches
and I'm down 11.2 pounds! =)
Will post again Thursday after my 1 week doctor follow up!

April Goals...
My April Goals...
#1- Lose 15 pounds
#2- Get back to my daily 3 mile walks within 1.5 weeks after surgery.
#3- Hit my Daily drink and food intake goals set by my Doc
Twas the night before Surgery...
I made it! Did not cheat at all! Not even once! Very proud consider I had 2 birthday parties, and my own 29th birthday! =) I have learned so much about myself in these last two weeks during my pre-op liquid diet. I have learned how much control food had on my life. I eat pretty healthy and workout often but it was EXTREAMLY hard the first 3 days to detox and get off caffeine and carbs! I still can’t believe it’s been 2 weeks since I have had a cup of coffee, never could I imagine my life without it.
I feel soooooo much better now and it still blows my mind how little I need every day to feel great! These protein shakes fill me up and are low cal and carb. I think it is something that will stay with me.
How I did with March Goals:
#1- Getting into the habit of taking all my vitamins- was really easy actually! When I had to stop 1 week prior to surgery it was hard to remember NOT to take them!
#2- Stick to pre-op Diet – Now this was very hard at times! But I made it! I did it! I feel so much better now! However I am VERY glad it’s over =)
#3-Give up coffee – this one was the one I dreaded most! But I have switched to Caffeine free herbal teas, and I have not missed coffee much, won’t say completely. Amazing everyone around me didn’t kill me in the process.
#4- Lose 10 pounds pre-op, this was my goal, not a goal my doctor set. I’m happy to report that I have lost 11.4 Pounds =) Yippee GO ME!
